One Stop Guide To Gold Coast

Time For A Surf

Make a splash when you hit the coast and book yourself a surf lesson. You’ll first hit the surf at Main Beach to build your confidence. Next you’ll head off to the Spit where the waves are even better.

Sunset Drinks

As the sun goes down it’s time for a drink. The bar we recommend is Quay One at Skypoint Tower. It’s got a stunning view of the coast and hinterland and the fabulous city lights of Surfers Paradise. It’s also the second tallest tower in Queensland so the view is really something.

A Big Night Out

The nightlife on the coast is fantastic. The clubs are great, especially the strip along Cavill Avenue, Vanity Nightclub and SinCity in Orchid Ave in Surfers Paradise are the most popular. Surf and Sun Backpackers run a backpacker pub crawl on Wednesday and Saturday nights. Hard Rock Cafe is a great fun place to hang out for a big night out.

Live Music

For live music head to Beer Garden on Cavill Ave is a great option, especially on Tuesday nights.  The Avenue on Orchid Ave rocks on week nights from 9.30pm.

Where To Eat

For cheap eating head to Irish bar Waxy’s Irish Pub on Surfers Paradise Blvd on a Sun and Mon for a $2 steak. If you are a little homesick head off to Fiddler Green for $10 home style meals. If you’re in to Thai food we love Chiang Mai Thai in Palm Av, Surfers Paradise.

Theme Park Heaven

The Gold Coast has amazing theme parks Dream World, Movie World, Sea World, Wet ‘n Wild. The 7 Day Mega Pass gives you unlimited entry for 7 consecutive days for $149. If you can only have the time or money to do just one then make it Dream World. It’s got a water park, rides and animals and shows.

Tours To Take

There’s a day tour to Springbrook National Park which is within the Gondwana Rainforests and is a Australia World Heritage Area. There’s great hiking trails and waterfalls. This is one of the most extensive areas of subtropical rainforest in the world so the wildlife is amazing. They have all sorts of visitor attractions including a popular exotic fruit tasting.

When it’s whale watching session from August – October it is fantastic fun to check out these incredible creatures as they cruise along the Queensland coast.
