Day 0.5 - First up the transfer bus will take you across Tasmania, through the farms of the midlands to Launceston for the evening.
Overnight - Launceston
Day 1 - This morning we head north-east to the incredible Sideling Lookout, stop to admire the amazing memorial carvings at Legerwood and taste the cheesy delights of the Pyengana Dairy Company.
In the afternoon it’s time for the highlight of the day - the stunning Bay of Fires. Named Lonely Planet’s Number 1 destination for 2009, the bay has some of the whitest sand and clearest water you’ll ever see. Take your time to explore the beach, swim in the turquoise waters or simply admire the view over a coffee!
In the evening we arrive at our accommodation in the seaside town of Bicheno. As darkness falls head to the beach to see the fairy penguins come ashore to nest.
Overnight - Bicheno
Day 2 - This morning there’s an optional stop ($20pp) to check out some unique Tasmanian fauna at East Coast Natureworld - soon after we arrive it’s feeding time for the Tasmanian devils, wombats, echidnas and koalas and many more animals that call the park home.
Now it’s time to pack a picnic lunch as we check out another Tassie icon - the gorgeous sparkling waters of Wineglass Bay. I hope you had your Weetbix because this is a walk that will get the heart pumping, with the reward of fantastic views at the top of the lookout. If you’ve still got some gas in the tank trek down to the beach itself - it’s rated as one of the top five beaches of the world!
In the afternoon we head down the scenic coast road back to Hobart, with stops at Coles Bay & Kate's Berry Farm along the way.
