Litchfield National Park is home to massive termite mounds as well as beautiful streams and waterfalls. If you’re short on time this trip makes an excellent taster of the surrounding area.

A visit to the termite mounds will leave you perplexed at how they can grow so big and be so complicated! You’ll love exploring the park and swimming in the beautiful streams, rock pools and waterfalls.

You will be collected from select Darwin accommodation at approximately 7.30 am and then our adventure begins as we travel towards Litchfield National Park.

Travelling into Litchfield National Park we view the Magnetic and Cathedral Termite Mounds,  an amazing architectural feature containing arches, tunnels, chimneys. They are plentiful in this region and can stand as high as 6 metres.

Once we arrive you will explore waterfalls, spring-fed streams and the rugged sandstone escarpments of Litchfield National Park. Swim, hike and explore Florence and Wangi Falls. Spend some time bird watching and taking in the spectacular scenery at Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve. Discover the many rock holes and cascading waterfalls of Buley Rockhole before our evening arrival back in Darwin.

*Wangi Falls can close during the tropical wet season and will be substituted during this time.
