Day 1: Wave Rock & Fitzgerald River National Park
Our adventure begins as we travel east from Perth over the Darling Ranges with our first coffee break in the historic township of York, WA’s oldest inland town. A bit more driving and you’ll be eating lunch in the shadow of Wave Rock. By late afternoon, we’ll have arrived in Fitzgerald River National Park, an internationally recognised world biosphere! Today we clock up a few kilometres and travel around 10 hours with stops along the way. Tonight we swag camp at Fitzgerald River National Park with showers and toilets.
Meal(s) included: Lunch, Dinner
Day 2: Cape Le Grand National Park
Begin the morning with a hike up East Mt Baron then we’ll take the coastal route into Esperance. Get ready for some of Australia’s most spectacular scenery with this part of WA having no less than 9 National Parks & where we camp is the most spectacular of all, Cape Le Grand National Park. The ocean here is practically transparent, the local eastern grey ‘roos are regularly sunbaking on the beach and the sand at Lucky Bay has twice been judged Australia’s whitest. Enjoy a free afternoon here and how you spend it is wholly up to you. Set out on a coastal bushwalk, splash about in the sea, fiddle around with your camera aperture or just kick back with your new buds along the beach. Today we travel 2.5 hours with stops along the way. Walking time is about 3 hours and you’ll be swag camping with toilet and shower facilities at Cape Le Grand.
Meal(s) included: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 3: Cape Le Grand
Day three is spent entirely exploring the unbelievable paradise that is Cape Le Grand National Park. Take an early morning walk down to the beach to play with the kangaroos before we embark on a hike up Frenchmans Peak. From here you will be amazed by the views of the park and beyond to the islands of the Recherche Archipelago. Enjoy some extra free time to appreciate and explore this amazing area whether it be chilling out or getting active with more walks. We camp here for a second night.
Meal(s) included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 4: the Nullarbor

Start the day with an early morning as we head to Norseman for lunch then hit the Eyre Highway to start our journey eastbound.  Tonight you will get an IMAX version of the great southern sky where you’ll be left speechless by the show of constellations and shooting stars. Today’s driving time is about 10 hours and walking for about 1 hour. Tonight we bush camp (no facilities) under the Southern skies on the Nullarbor.

Meal(s) included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5: The Nullabor

Driving’s the name of the game today (we’ve got 500 kilometres of the world’s longest stretch of straight road to cover!). Today will certainly give you a sense of the sheer size of this vast and ancient land. But we still have several stops along the way as we visit the Bunda Cliffs to see where the Southern Ocean crashes into the Nullarbor Plain. Get a photo with the classic camels/kangaroos/wombats crossing sign and cross into Yalata Aboriginal lands when we pass the Dingo Fence. Travel time today is about 6 hours and once again be prepared to be bedazzled by the wonders of the southern skies.

Meal(s) included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 6: Eyre Peninsula

Spend the morning viewing stunning natural attractions along the coast including a famous surf break and pink Lake MacDonnell. After stocking up on supplies in Streaky Bay, we’ll arrive at Coodlie Park bush camp – a working farm retreat that boasts its own private beach and offers an insight into the demands of rural living. Tonight you may share a meal and stories with travellers from our other tours and sleep in our super cool swag huts with shower facilities available. Today we travel for about 8 hours with stops along the way

Meal(s) included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 7: Port Lincoln & Baird Bay

Today is a day you’ll remember forever swimming with sea lions and dolphins in the clear waters off Baird Bay, on the Eyre Peninsula. (Please note: the Baird Bay Eco-tour is an optional outing you’ll need to book before your adventure begins. Cost is $200 per person; duration 3-4 hours). Those who choose to stay dry will have the morning at their leisure. Following time on the beach, we’ll enjoy a short drive along the coast to Elliston.

We will set up our campsites at Bayview Park for the next two nights.

Meal(s) included: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 8: Mikkira Station & Port Lincoln (Shark Cage Diving)

In the morning you, you can choose a conservation volunteer experience to help give back and plant seeds or trees. Depending on your love affair with fear, today you’ll either be diving into the world of Great White Sharks or brushing up on local whaling history at Whaler’s Way Conservation Park. Choose the way of the Whalers and you’ll be visiting the remains of an old whaling station (where you’ll hopefully spot some kangaroos and emus), enjoying a picnic lunch and stopping by Mikkira Station Koala Sanctuary to spot native Australian critters. Choose shark diving and you’ll be boating out to sea, changing into dive gear and invited to hop in a cage for a meet-up with some real monsters of the deep. These are some critters we don’t suggest hand-feeding.

In the afternoon, you will visit the beaches of Coffin Bay National Park. Afterward, you can enjoy free time in Port Lincoln and check out the local sites of this pretty little town and Australia’s seafood capital. Then we’ll make the short drive back to our campsite at Bayview Park. Driving is about 2.5 hours and the walking time is about 2 hours. Tonight we swag camp at Bayview Park which has toilets and shower facilities.

Meal(s) included: Breakfast

Day 9: Port Lincoln to Flinders Ranges

We spend our last day by the coast having a go at one of Australia's most loved pastimes - surfing! Pull on your wettie and enjoy a two-hour surf lesson at Fisheries Bay. There's no need to be nervous, the sheltered waters here offer small waves that are perfect for first-timers. If you're not keen on getting wet, you'll be free to explore or chill on the beach.

After the lesson, we head inland to the Southern Flinders Ranges to set up camp in Mt Remarkable National Park. Keep your eyes peeled for the adorable (and rare) yellow-footed rock wallabies that inhabit the area.

Total driving time is about 4 hours. Accommodation is swag camping at Mt Remarkable with a toilet (no shower).

Meal(s) included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 10: Flinders Ranges to Adelaide

This morning we’ll embark on our last hike of the tour - Davey’s Gully Walk in Mt Remarkable National Park, before hitting the road back to Adelaide and travelling through some of South Australia quant country towns.

Drive time today is about 5 hours and this overland adventure ends upon arrival in Adelaide.

This overland adventure ends upon arrival in Adelaide. There’s no accommodation provided tonight, and make sure you have booked your accommodation prior to departure. You’ll get your breakfast and although there are no formal activities planned it is usual for the group to get together and reflect on the big journey together over a few drinks and meal (at own expense).

Meal(s) included: Breakfast

OPTIONAL EXPERIENCES

While everything on our tours is included in the price such as transport, accommodation, food and entry and national park fees, there are two optional extra activities that we leave up to the passenger to decide if they want to do.

Swim with sea lions and dolphins ($220pp)

This is an amazing experience - you may have swum with dolphins at other places around the world but the interaction that you will have with the sea lions and dolphins at Baird Bay will leave you breathless. Baird Bay is a sheltered bay on the Eyre Peninsula and passengers aboard the boat for a short ride to our first stop, which is to swim with sea lions.  This takes place in approximately 2 metres of water. It is a natural experience and the sea lions come into the sheltered lagoon to interact with us.

After this, we head further out into the bay to swim with the dolphins. This happens in four metres of water but is still within the sheltered bay. The tour is 3-4 hours, wetsuit and snorkel equipment is provided at no additional cost.

As this activity is outsourced, only limited spaces are available so you must book this optional experience at the time of booking so you don’t miss out.  You will pay the operator directly on the day of the activity.
