Below is a description of how Travel Days on Stray works! You can travel by train on non guided days also.

Travel Day: Cairns — Indigenous Camp (Special Stop)
MEET:
at Nomads Cairns, Gilligans or Cairns train station (please confirm prior to departure).
We travel by train south to Tully, getting in around lunchtime. You have the option of staying in Tully at a historic hotel (for hostel prices) or taking part in Loka’s exclusive Indigenous Rainforest Experience for the special Loka price of $120. We get met by local Aboriginals and travel by bus into the amazing rainforest of Tully Gorge National Park. Get welcomed onto their traditional lands in ‘Jirrbal’ language. We go for a swim in the scenic Tully River before having a group dinner (modern food with a traditional twist). After dark we go ‘spotlighting’ in the rainforest for native wildlife. An enchanting evening of dreamtime stories around a campfire.
SLEEP: Indigenous Camp for an all inclusive price of $120 or Mt Tyson Hotel for accom only price of $35.

Travel Day: Indigenous Camp (via Townsville) – Airlie Beach
MEET:
at Indigenous Camp or Tully train station
In the morning, enjoy a big breakfast then head off for an interpretative walk into the national park. We then travel back to Tully to catch the train. You may want to hop off in Townsville on the way to access Magnetic Island. We travel to Proserpine then transfer to Airlie Beach arriving approx. 7pm. Note: depending on which day you depart you may have a day/night at Tully on your way to Airlie.
SLEEP: Your choice of Airlie accom*, you can book via the Stray web app.

Free Day in Airlie Beach
We have a full day in Airlie Beach for activities or to relax. There are great 1-3 day sailing adventure options around the Whitsunday Islands that you can do.
SLEEP: Your choice of Airlie accommodation*.

Travel Days: Airlie Beach – Emu Park (Special Stop)
MEET:
outside Base backpackers.
We have most of the day free in Airlie and then in the early evening we transfer to the train and travel to Rockhampton. We hop off the train with a quick transfer to the cool, coastal town of Emu Park. We have organized a great package here that’s $75 for 2 nights accommodation at Emu Resort and an Aussie farm experience that includes a ‘swagman’s’ dinner (and a tour around the property). While at Emu Park you can sit around the resort pool or go on a turtle-spotting walk up to Bluff Point. Note: Depending on the day you arrive you may have an additional night to sleep in swags at the Country Campout. This is an extra $34 for camping experience and breakfast.
SLEEP: Emu Park $75 for the 2 night package or $109 for the 3 night package (no need to pre-book). These packages are $60 and $90 for no meals or Country Campout experience included.

Travel Day: Emu Park – Rainbow Beach
MEET:
at Emus Beach reception
We begin the day with an early morning bus transfer to the train. We travel to Gympie then jump on the Loka bus to Rainbow Beach. Rainbow Beach is a departure point for Fraser Island and has a beautiful beach to chill on, or we recommend walking up to Carlo Sand Blow with your guide for sunset or sunrise.
SLEEP: Your choice of Rainbow Beach accom*. You can book this via the Stray web app.

Travel Day: Rainbow Beach (via Noosa) — Brisbane
MEET:
across the road from Frasers on Rainbow/Dingos hostels.
We travel in our own Loka bus through Noosa where you have the option to hop off, then we express down to Brisbane where we drop you off in the city centre.
SLEEP: Your choice of Brisbane accom*. You can book this via the Stray web app.

*NOTE:  Usually a dorm bed will cost between $24 – $45 per person depending on the size of the dorm and time of year (averaging $32 per person per night), a twin/double option will range from $75 – $180 (averaging $100 per room). You can pre-book your accommodation through Loka’s web app, you just pay a deposit to reserve your spot and pay the remainder direct to the operator. At most locations you are welcome to stay where you like, however please be aware of Stray’s set departure points as outlined by the meeting place on the travel days.
