Read below for an example of an epic four days in Uluru. You can choose to hire a car on your own or join this four day Uluru tour!

Day One in Uluru

Once you arrive in Uluru, take a 40 minute drive to the nearby landmark of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). This rock formation is made of 36 domes of varying sizes.

After you’ve taken in the scenery, we recommend embarking on the Valley of the Winds walk. This walk takes around three to four hours to complete, so be sure to bring a reusable water bottle. About halfway through the walk there will be another chance to refill your water bottle.

The Valley of the Winds walk will take you up, down and around the rock formation. You’ll encounter unparalleled lookout spots, fascinating flora and fauna and incredible views.

Once you’re done with your hike, we recommend heading back to Uluru while it’s still light out. This will allow you to post up at one of the lookout points and watch the gorgeous Uluru sunset.

Day Two in Uluru

The second day is all about exploring Uluru! If you can manage to wake up early, try to catch an Uluru sunrise. It’s an incredible sight as the desert is slowly painted by the sun with rich earthy hues.

Head to the Cultural Centre to learn a bit more about the area and view some local art before exploring the towering monolith itself.

There are lots of hiking trails around Uluru that you can embark on. However, if you’re up for it, we recommend exploring the Uluru Base Walk. This hike is about 10 kilometres long and will take up a large portion of your day.

As you explore the base of Uluru, you’ll pass through different ecosystems, each with different flora and fauna. Viewing the massive rock up close is also quite incredible as you can see every fine detail.

There is a part of this walk that passes by a sacred site. Please pay attention to signage and refrain from taking photos when you enter this area.

If hiking isn’t for you, you can embark on a segway tour. Or maybe you want to see Uluru from a different perspective and try skydiving.

Day Three in Uluru

On the third day of your trip, make the drive to Kings Canyon for even more incredible scenery. It’s a bit of a drive, but it is well worth it.

When you arrive, the main attraction is the Kings Canyon Rim Walk. The walk will take around three hours and will lead you through sandstone domes and the gorgeous Garden of Eden. There’s no rush to finish this in three hours, so take your time and soak it all in!

In the evening, head back to Uluru to enjoy one final sunset on the last night of your trip. You may even choose to have a picnic underneath the starry night sky.

Day Four in Uluru

On your final day in Uluru, you can check out anything else that you’ve missed before heading home. This may include another sunrise, exploring the nearby towns or soaking in some more scenery.

After four epic days in Uluru, you’ll be heading home with fond memories of the adventure of a lifetime!
