Hobart

Launceston
Not as big as Hobart, Launceston still packs a punch. Full of incredible scenery and walking trails. The panoramic views in Launceston will have you reaching for your camera right away.

Tasmanian Devils
Be sure to stop in to one of Tasmania’s many wildlife parks and watch the little Tassie Devil’s run amok in their enclosures. Conservation efforts continue to save this species from extinction.

Visit a winery or lavender farm
Known for creating sensation cool-climate wine varieties, wine aficionados would be silly to miss a visit to one of Tasmania’s wineries. For a family friendly option visit one of the many lush and vibrant lavender fields throughout the state and walk amongst the striking purple blooms.

World Heritage Cruise
Cruise along the glass top Gordon River and through the surrounding lush greenery of Strahan. Pass through Macquarie Harbour narrow entrance referred to as Hells Gates by convicts.

See the Southern Lights
Most people have heard of the famous Northern Lights, visible towards the top of the world in Iceland, but did you know there is also the Aurora Australis? This spectacular light show is not quite as easy to see from Tasmania as the South Pole is further away, but if the conditions are perfect, you’ll be treated to the show. September has the highest chance of a sighting – but ideal conditions can bring a surprise show at any time of the year.
