Now that you know about the safety measures, here are a few other things to know before you go.

What to pack for shark cage diving

You’ll be taking a boat to the shark cage diving location before jumping into the water. There are few essentials to bring along to ensure that you’re fully prepared.

  • Swimwear

You’ll be wearing a wetsuit during this experience, but you’ll want swimwear to have on underneath your wetsuit. Be sure to also bring dry clothes to change into after your exciting experience.

  • Sunscreen

The sun is quite strong in Australia, so you’ll want to be sure to bring sunscreen. There may be some available on the boat, but it’s best to be safe and bring your own. Double check that your sunscreen is water resistant and reef friendly!

  • Motion sickness tablets

Because you take a boat out to the diving site, you may want to bring something for motion sickness. If you’re not prone to getting motion sickness, then you don’t have to worry about packing this.

  • Underwater camera

You may want to bring an underwater camera to capture footage of your cage diving experience. Be sure that you have something to secure the camera to so that it’s not sticking out of the cage.
