“The Great Ocean Road is one of the main reasons people come to Melbourne besides food, it’s a must do and if you’re short on time a one day trip is the best way to see it.” –Liz – One Stop Adventures Travel Expert
Description
After picking up from Melbourne CBD accommodation we head out over the West Gate Bridge and out on the freeway towards the end of the Great Ocean Road. Halfway there we'll jump out of the bus, stretch our legs and get to know everyone in the group. We'll then enjoy some winding roads through the scenic farming country until we arrive at the Shipwreck Coast on the Great Ocean Road. This is a great opportunity to get some truly awesome shots of the 12 Apostles with a lot fewer people around than in the afternoon. We'll head to Loch Ard Gorge and learn the story of the survivors of the famous shipwreck - the Loch Ard and spend some time exploring the area. We continue our journey back towards Melbourne and head to the Otway National Park for a guided walk through the rainforest. Here we can check out the wildlife, massive mountain ash trees and breathe in some of the freshest air you'll ever take in! We head into Apollo Bay where we can taste some vegemite ice cream and check out this cool surf town. Afterwards, we are off spot koalas and birds in the wild! Continuing along the surf coast's winding road enjoying the views we make our way to Memorial Arch where we can get one of the iconic pictures of the day with the "Great Ocean Road" sign and check out the beach while learning a little history about the road itself. From Memorial Arch it's a short trip back to Melbourne arriving around 8:30pm.
