This 19-kilometre (return) hike takes you through The Prom’s lush temperate rainforests until you reach the absolutely gorgeous Sealers Cove. Laze around the beach or take a well-earned swim, and you can even camp out there if you get in early enough on a permit!

Stay the night in a lightstation

Wilsons Promenontory’s ocean views and green terrain make it a truly romantic getaway, and what better way to enjoy a stay in The Prom than its lightstation? Hikers can stay overnight in one of the lightstation’s three cottages, with sweeping Bass Strait views and charming walks just the beginning of what is sure to be a wonderful weekend away.

Spot an abundance of wildlife at Refuge Cove

Refuge Cove isn’t just a beautifully secluded beach, but its waters are also home an abundance of wildlife. The cove is home to different species of dolphins, sharks, migrating whales and seals, as well as plenty of bird life including little penguins, white-bellied sea eagles, fairy prions and the mighty albatross. A hike to Refuge Cove is well worth the effort, or you can climb aboard a cruise that will allow you to experience the natural wonder and its incredible wildlife.

Watch one of the world’s best sunsets at Mt Oberon

We’re claiming it – the sunset at Mt Oberson is not one of Australia’s best, but easily one of the world’s best. The pink and golden hues that are cast across the stunning Prom below are an awe-inspiring sight to behold, and well worth the effort to get up there. For sunset lovers, this is something that should never be passed up on a trip to The Prom.
