Best Melbourne to Alice Springs Tours
We offer two packages to choose from, both differing slightly depending on the duration you would like to travel. The 7-day express is perfect for those who wish to see the main highlights between Melbourne and Alice Springs, but do not have a substantial amount of time. The 10 day Cheap as Chips is perfect for the adventurous traveller who wants to see everything possible, without breaking the bank.
The 7-day express overland tour will take you on a journey from the bustling city of Melbourne to the remote town of Alice Springs, ensuring you see most of the highlights in between. Departing Melbourne in the early morning, you will start your trip by exploring the world-famous Great Ocean Road. Admire the 12 Apostles, spot koalas in their natural habitat and follow the winding roads to your next destination, the Grampians National Park. After spending a night in the Grampians, you will head west for a quick stop off in the south Australian capital of Adelaide, before catching the night bus from Adelaide to Alice Springs where you will prepare for your outback adventure which will depart the following day. The final three days will be spent exploring the Red Centre, visiting some of Australia’s most well-known landmarks, including Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon, with beautiful sunrises, warm sunny days and star-studded skies.
The 10-day Cheap as Chips tour travels to many of the same locations as the 7-day express, however, the leg between Adelaide and Alice is a fully guided tour instead of an overnight bus. You’ll spend more time exploring the attractions in between the two cities with a local guide, also visiting the iconic underground opal mining town of Coober Pedy, the stunning Clare Valley wine region and Flinders Ranges National Park. This overland trip is a combination of two separate tours, that includes all accommodation and the majority of meals.
The journey from Melbourne to Alice Springs is one to remember. It truly showcases the diversity of the Australian continent and its stunning landscapes, while also giving you a great insight into the unique and beautiful indigenous Australian culture.
