If you’re going to do a skydive for the first time, then Noosa is a great place to do it. You’ll fly high above the Sunshine Coast beaches, from the most spectacular height.

The Sunshine Coast is called the Sunshine Coast for a reason! With gorgeous beaches and pretty views of a blue lined sunset, the Sunshine Coast offers golden vistas.

This view could be one of the highlights of your whole trip to the East Coast!

What happens during a skydive?

Here’s what you can expect…

o   You jump at 15,000 feet

o   You’ll have more time parachuting than you will falling

o   Your ears might pop from the pressure

o   The landing is the most dangerous part

o   The video is worth it

Your tandem skydive in Noosa will take place with an instructor. That means you’ll have an instructor on your back, and they will guide you off the plane and direct the whole descent.

You’ll be strapped tightly to your instructor, and you will both have a vest on. You’ll be flying 15,000 feet up in the air, so it’s safe to say you’ll be very high up! Then you jump out of the plane, and you’ll have 60 seconds of freefalling before the parachute is deployed.

This is about 220 kilometres per hour that you will be travelling, so it’s fast. You’ll get to see the whole Sunshine Coast…from the best height.

You’ll get beautiful views of the whole scene below you. Make sure you take a mental video of your freefall! It truly is a once in a lifetime experience!

Get the video…it’s worth it!

Buying the skydive video is well worth the cost! Your instructor will set up the camera just before your descent, so that your whole fall is recorded.

Make sure you check out the post-flight footage! You’ll be able to purchase the video after your flight.

What else to expect:

  • Your ears might pop from the pressure. That’s because our ears are sensitive to pressure – you might experience ear popping in the same way that you would if you were on an airplane, and it’s landing.
  • You’ll fill out medical forms before your flight – don’t fly if you’ve got an ear infection!
  • There are lots of spins and twists that you might be able to do!
  • Contrary to belief, skydiving doesn’t feel like ‘falling.’

Where to go

You’ll go to the Noosa drop zone, which is at the Sunshine Coast Airport – and it’s right next to Mudjimba Beach. The drop zone is about 350 metres away from the airport. You will land on the beach when you do this skydive.

Getting to the Noosa drop zone is very easy, and you will be able to use the local public bus service if you don’t have a vehicle – the bus route of 622 leaves Noosa station every hour. You’ll be falling for 50 seconds in total.
