What can I do in Darwin?

If you have three days in Darwin, you can go out and explore, get an amazing adventure, and get involved in the culture.

If you’re wanting an adrenaline rush, jump into the Cage of Death at Crocosaurus Cove. The Cage of Death is when you go into a thick glass cage and get put into the water of a massive crocodile. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will put you face-to-face with a croc while they swim around the cage. After your experience, you can then walk around the rest of the attraction and see other wildlife.

Going to Mindil Beach Markets in the dry season is a great way to watch the sunset on a Thursday or Sunday. Or head to Parap Markets all year round on Saturday mornings.

Learn a bit of history at the WWII Oil Storage Tunnels and the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory. You can even fit in a day trip from Darwin to one of the amazing national parks. Read on to find out what these national parks are!

What are the day trips?

From Darwin, you can experience many fun day adventures. The NT has some of the best national parks in Australia like Litchfield and Kakadu. Or discover Tiwi Island and Katherine Gorge.

If you’re looking to swim Litchfield has the best spots like Buley Rockhole, Florence Falls, The Cascades, and Wangi Falls.

Kakadu has Jim Jim Falls which is the tallest waterfall in the area. Or you can see Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr Rock! The Ubirr rock art is over 30,000 years old. Make sure you head to the Yellow Water River Cruise in Kakadu to see the wetlands and wildlife.

Are there other trips available?

Aside from Litchfield and Kakadu, you can make a further trip to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. This is where you’ll see the famous Red Rock and other amazing attractions.
