“Doing a 4X4 tour of Fraser Island means you can drive a four wheel drive vehicle on Fraser Island. You don’t have to drive if you don’t want to, the tours are fully guided so you have someone experienced showing you all the best spots. Driving on the beach, in the rainforest and camping, that’s about as Aussie as it gets!” – Liz – One Stop Adventures Travel Expert.

Here you will be placed into groups and be taught how to drive safely on Fraser Island ready for your big adventure!

Day 1:

We begin with a morning brief at Freedom Rainbow Beach where we cover the essentials of driving safely on Fraser Island. At 8:00am we head to catch the barge (ferry) to take us to K’Gari (Fraser Island). Once we have arrived, we’ll begin the journey along the sandy highway (speed limits DO apply!). We’ll head for the azure waters of Lake McKenzie, Fraser Island’s most photogenic lake. Enjoy a relaxing lunch and a refreshing swim in the crystal clear water as you get to know your new found friends! Around 3pm we drive up the beach to our campsite, for an early dinner and some well deserved drinks and fun!

Day 2:

Arise in the morning for a quick breakfast before we begin our day on Fraser Island and head north for an invigorating dip in the Champagne Pools (depending on tide and weather conditions). Shortly after we travel up to Indian head, Fraser Island's highest point where you may be lucky enough to see whales and sharks in the ocean. We then stop at Maheno Shipwreck for some photos and short history lesson about this famous Fraser Island icon. If we didn’t get to visit the Champagne Pools, we’ll drive to Lake Wabby to explore the sand dunes with a guided walk. Finish off with another swim in Eli Creek, a beautifully clear creek before heading back to Rainbow Beach in the afternoon.

* Itineraries are likely to change due to tides and weather conditions
