The Hammer is a great option for environmentally conscious travellers looking to discover as much of the Whitsundays as possible!

The boat was designed to compete in the world’s most famous races and has even placed 5 times in the Sydney to Hobart epic. This makes the Hammer a speedy option for seeing as much as you can and maximising your time on the islands. You’ll see more islands and more reef when you sail on the Hammer!

Check in by 8:00am the day of departure at 350 Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach.
Meet at Coral Sea Marina, Airlie Beach by 9:30am, for a 10:00am departure.

The Captain will choose the itinerary to make the most of the conditions and meet the desires of the group. While some of the locations may vary, you can expect:

  • Up to five hours at Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet Lookout.
  • Bushwalks surrounded by amazing scenery to lookout points for spectacular views
  • Snorkelling at four locations to discover the incredible fringing reef and islands of the Great Barrier Reef
  • Sunsets on the beach on unspoilt islands

This itinerary will cover around 90km's around the islands in 3 days and 2 nights. Not only will you visit the famous Whitehaven Beach, but you will also get to the northern end of the Whitsundays, where the best fringing coral reefs in the Whitsundays are found around Hayman Island, Langford Reef and Mantaray Bay. Travelling aboard Hammer is also one of the most sustainable ways to explore the Whitsundays as it uses wind power.

The Captain and crew will provide you with plenty of information on the Whitsunday Islands and the Marine Park and you will arrive back to the Marina at 3:30pm on the 3rd day with a better appreciation of the Whitsunday Islands.

Departs: 10:00 am every Tuesday and Saturday.

Hammer Departs from Coral Sea Marina, Airlie Beach.

Returns: 3.30pm on day 3

Check-in: at the office at 350 Shute Harbour Road, Airlie Beach. Check in is available between 10am - 3pm the day before departure or by 8am the day of departure. The friendly staff will take you through a pre-departure briefing and everything you need to know for the trip.

All travellers are required to reconfirm their travel at least 48 hours before departure.

Most dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice. Please provide any dietary requirements in the notes when you book.

BYO alcohol and drinks (no glass or red wine)

All accommodation is in shared dorm style cabins and sections below deck. All travellers will be given their own bed.
