Tour the Red Centre’s highlights on this epic 4-day adventure. Travelling with a small group, you’ll visit the iconic Uluru, Kings Canyon, Kata Tjuta, and Tjoritja West MacDonnell Ranges. Throughout the tour, you’ll learn all about the Red Centre as your expert local guide shares fascinating stories of the region.

During the day, you’ll hike through the impressive landscapes and swim in remote water holes. In the evening, witness incredible desert sunsets and gaze at the Milkway around the campfire. Sleep in twin safari tents or unroll a swag for a traditional Outback experience.

This itinerary can begin in Alice Springs or Uluru:

Day 1: Alice Springs to Uluru 
The tour starts in Alice Springs, heading to Mt Connor lookout and Curtin Springs. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Indigenous Cultural Centre and wander Uluru’s base walk. After we’ve explored Mutitjulu waterhole, Kuniya Piti and Kantju Gorge, we’ll settle in to witness the breathtaking sunset over Uluru.

Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Day 2: Uluru to Kings Canyon 
Tuck into an early breakfast before visiting Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park for sunrise at Kata Tjuta. Then explore the unique rocks of Kata Tjuta with a hike through Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge. We’ll proceed to Kings Canyon where we enjoy another magical sunset and dinner around the campfire.

Day 3: Kings Canyon to West MacDonnell Ranges 
Lacing up our hiking boots, we explore Kings Canyon on foot. Enjoy a hike through the canyon and take in unforgettable views of sandstone gorges. We head back through Alice Springs to the West MacDonnell Ranges where we enjoy our final night of camping under the desert sky.

Day 4: West MacDonnell Ranges to Alice Springs 

On our final day we explore the impressive gorges and swimming holes of West MacDonnell Ranges. After breakfast at Standley Chasm, we visit Ellery Creek Bighole, Ormiston Gorge, and Simpsons Gap. Bring your swimming gear to enjoy a dip in the refreshing natural swimming pools. We finish up the tour in Alice Springs where we say goodbye to our amazing travel mates!

 

Departure info:

Operates: Monday, Wednesday & Saturday (Wednesday June – September only).

Departs: Alice Springs 7:00am / Uluru 1:00pm

Returns: Alice Springs 5:30pm

If you are flying into Ayers Rock Airport, the latest your flight can arrive is 1:50pm. The tour does not return to Uluru and finishes in Alice Springs only.

Accommodation transfers are available from selected locations in Alice Springs. Please let us know where you are staying when you book.

Accommodation options:

Swag camping – enjoy an authentic Aussie camping experience and sleep under the stars in a swag. $1139 per person

Permanent safari tents – enjoy a little more privacy and comfort in twin-share permanent safari tents. If you are travelling alone, you will be paired with another traveller of the same gender where possible. $1284 per person

Sleeping bags can be hired for $40 per person (paid on the day of your tour). Please let us know in advance if you would like to hire a sleeping bag.

A reasonable level of fitness is required for this tour.
