DAY 1: Hobart to Strahan
Russell Falls, Lake St Clair & Mount Field National Park: We'll start our adventure from the capital of Tassie: Hobart! Along the way towards Strahan, we'll make some great stops like Mount Field National Park and Franklin-Gordon National Park. It will be an epic day in this spectacular World Heritage wilderness with the impressive Russell waterfalls, stunning mountain top views and Tasmanian wildlife – in the wild! We'll also visit Lake St Clair which is the deepest freshwater lake of Australia. And before we settle down at our comfortable accommodation in Strahan we explore a bit more about the mining background in Queenstown.
Overnight: Strahan
DAY 2: Wild Wild West Coast
Montezuma Falls, Tarkine Rainforest & Henty Dunes: These are just a few of the popular must-sees we'll be exploring this day! Wander through ancient rainforests, hike to Tassie's highest waterfall and then run wild on the giant Henty sand dunes. Best jumping photos ever! Not a fan of sand between your toes? You can do an optional cruise on the Gordon River (own expense). Later in the day we'll enjoy the ocean air at Ocean Beach and then head back to the beautiful Strahan again.
Overnight: Strahan
DAY 3: Cradle Mountain to Launceston
Tasmania has so many amazing highlights, and Cradle Mountain is definitely one of them. And for a reason, because the views are incredible! Today we hike in Cradle Mountain National Park where we can take some stunning photos of the vast Dove Lake and the cute wombats at Ronny Creek. Our last stop for this day will be Launceston. But before we drive there, we first make a stop at Sheffield and its colourful murals.
Overnight: Launceston
DAY 4: Launceston to Bicheno (refresh needed)
Cataract Gorge, Bay of Fires & Bicheno: Just a short ride from the city centre, we'll pay a visit to the incredible South Esk River, a hotspot for wallaby sightings! Heading East, we'll enjoy lunch at the fishing town of St Helens before moving on to the Bay of Fires. Consistently rated as one of the world's best beaches, it is a place everyone loves, but few have visited. We'll learn about the Tasmanian aboriginal peoople and walk along the bay's striking sands. We spend the night in the little town of Bicheno, where you can walk to the beach to see little penguins come ashore.
Overnight: Bicheno
DAY 5: Freycinet National Park to Hobart
Wineglass Bay & Freycinet National Park: Today you'll have the opportunity to visit a wildlife sanctuary to see the rescued animals, including the Tasmanian Devil (extra cost). After that we visit the Freycinet National Park and famous Wineglass Bay. With hours to explore, you can go up for a dramatic view or down to the gleaming white beach. In the afternoon we drive down the coast, with a stop at famous Kate's Berry Farm.
Overnight: Hobart
DAY 6: Tasmanian Devils, Richmond & Wellington Park
It's time to meet the locals! At Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, you'll get close to Tasmanian wildlife such as quolls, wombats, kangaroos, and Tasmanian devils. We'll make a brief stop at the historic village of Richmond, before passing through the Coal River Valley winery region and on to Mount Wellington. We'll take some great walks and enjoy stunning viewpoints to fully appreciate this beautiful area, known as "The Mount". We'll finish the day back in Hobart, where you can relax in one of the city's historic pubs or restaurants.
Overnight: Hobart
DAY 7: Tasman Peninsula
Time flies when you're having fun! It's a shame, but today is already the last day of our tour. Luckily, we still have some fun things to explore. We'll go to the colonial village of Richmond first and then head to the Tasman Peninsula. This mesmerising area offers fantastic views of rugged cliffs, waterfalls and lots of green surroundings. You'll visit for example Pirates Bay Lookout and Devil's Kitchen. On the planning is also a coastal hike from Remarkable Cave to Crescent Bay. Rather want to go to Port Arthur, Australia's best preserved convict settlement? You can do this instead of the coastal hike. Port Arthur is at your own expense.
