A great outback location in Australia is Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Uluru is in the heart of Australia and part of the outback, also known as the red centre. Most people will recognise Uluru as the giant red rock, also called Ayers Rock.

A great way to explore Uluru is by booking a tour. There are tours all through Uluru, so we’ll list one of our favourite ones!

3 Day 2 Night Red Centre Trip

This tour is a fantastic way to see parts of Uluru and explore the outback. On the three days, you’ll see Uluru, Kata Tjuta, and Kings Canyon. You’ll also have all meals provided on this tour! Prior to the tour starting, you’ll need to be in Alice Springs. Now, let’s get into the details of what’s involved in this outback adventure.

On your first day, you leave Alice Springs early in the morning and start making your way to Uluru. After you have some lunch, you’ll go to the Aboriginal Culture Centre. This is a great way to start your trip to learn about the culture of the Anangu people who are the traditional owners of the land.

When you’ve arrived at Uluru, you’ll have a guided base walk tour around the giant red rock. This walk can take between three to four hours to complete! Coming to the end of your first day, you will enjoy the sunset of Uluru with a glass of bubbles and then dinner.

Wake up early on your second day to see the beautiful sunrise over Uluru. Then you’ll start doing a walk through the Valley of the Winds which is at Kata Tjuta. This walk is a bit of a difficult one and it can take between three to four hours. It’s beautiful to see these fascinating big red rocks that are similar yet so different to Uluru. After your long hike, you’ll have some lunch and then set off to Kings Creek Station where you will spend the night.

On your final day exploring the red centre, you’ll be hiking Kings Canyon. You’ll have time to see the north and south walls of the canyon. You’ll even see the beautiful, and surprisingly greenery of the Garden of Eden and the waterhole. The scenery is beautiful and worth taking a moment to take it in.

Your tour finishes in the afternoon when you will arrive back at Alice Springs.

There are many tours in Uluru which can be a lot of fun exploring the outback. On this three day tour, you will see and explore some of the best parts of the Australian outback.
