Description
Escape the Gold Coasts beaches and busy centre and explore the world heritage listed Lamington national park and Tamborine Mountain. We’ll start off by 4 wheel driving into the hinterland following the original pioneer’s track to Mt Tamborine’s Volcanic Plateau. The secluded area here provides sanctuary for many koalas, wallabies and other wildlife. We’ll enjoy a chance to check out the gallery walk on the mountain and have morning tea as well. You’ll be escorted by guides with a wealth of local knowledge on a leisurely bush walk. Discover lush subtropical rainforests with flowing waterfalls, learn how the local Aboriginal people gathered food and about the local wildlife and birds. Springs Gully is tucked away in the Aussie bush beside a crystal clear creek where we’ll enjoy our lunch for the day. We’ll have a delicious BBQ lunch and those that are keen and able can enjoy a refreshing swim if they’ve brought along their swimsuit. After lunch we’ll continue into the mountainous regions of Lamington National Park. This is Australias Largest preserved natural stand of subtropical rainforest and is a glory to behold! We enjoy bird feeding at the famous O’reillys Plateu and the treetop Boardwalk through the canopy of the rainforest gives a birdseye view of the surrounding area. The observation tower gives an even better view for those that are able to climb a bit higher. There’s plenty of photo opportunities and chances to sight Kangaroos and Wallabies through the day and as we make out way back to the Gold Coast.
