You’ll have plenty of wildlife spotting opportunities with an incredible night canoe tour on day one and a crocodile cruise down the Daintree River on day two. Staying overnight in the On the Wallaby Eco-Lodge and including all meals, this trip is the best way to tick these two top destinations off your list!

Day one – Atherton Tablelands
Say g’day to your tour guide and fellow travellers when you’re picked up in Cairns on day one. You’ll head straight out to the Atherton Tablelands where a day of swimming and exploring awaits!
  • Millaa Millaa Falls – get your hair flick pic or swim behind the cascading water at this unbelievably perfect waterfall
  • Josephine Falls – enjoy nature’s own slip ‘n’ slide at this amazing three-tier waterfall and swimming pool
  • Babinda Boulders – learn all about the natural environment of the Atherton Tablelands with a short walk and talk from your guide. Then swim in the crystal clear waters as they tumble over these unique rocks
  • Lack Eacham – yep, more swimming! Take a dip in this volcanic crater lake
  • Wildlife spotting – hopefully see an elusive platypus in the wild (April – October) and enjoy a night canoe on Lake Tinaroo to observe the nocturnal animals come out and play

Day two – Cape Tribulation & Daintree Rainforest
Enjoy breakfast in the lodge then be ready to head north and start exploring the Daintree Rainforest. This wild part of Tropical North Queensland really allows you to switch off and connect with nature – there’s no phone reception!

  • Port Douglas – tuck into some morning tea in the chic coastal town of Port Douglas and enjoy a stroll along the pristine sands of 4-Mile Beach
  • Wildlife Spotting Cruise – potter down the Daintree River in search of crocodiles as you hear all about these fearsome creatures from the local croc expert
  • Cape Tribulation Beach – wander along the remote Cape Tribulation Beach where you can literally see where the rainforest meets the reef
  • Guided Rainforest Walk – learn about the biodiversity of this ancient rainforest with a guided bushwalk
  • Secluded swimming spot – there is plenty of time for swimming on day two at this freshwater creek hidden deep within the rainforest
  • Lookout points – along the way we stop for photos at two amazing lookouts for incredible views of the rainforest, the reef and beyond
